Rhinoplasty

Since your nostril is the most prominent feature on your head, it can cause decreased confidence if it is out of proportion with the rest of your features. For our patients , nasal treatments can make the nasal feature larger or smaller, or alter the shape of the bridge, tip, or nostrils. The procedure can also correct deformities caused by injuries, and correct breathing problems that are associated with nasal abnormalities. Most patients who have undergone nasal treatments enjoy increased confidence and self-esteem.

This is done on an outpatient basis under IV sedation. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. During your first five days of recovery, you will wear a splint on your nostrils that will insure proper healing. The majority of swelling and bruising subsides progressively over two to four weeks and the semifinal result of a reshaping procedure is evident in three months. Minor swelling may persist for up to a year, and therefore the final result might not be evident for 12-14 months.

We would like to emphasize that this is a surgical procedure and, as such, carries with it some risk. We encourage all patients to learn as much about the process before undergoing the operation. Our patients should gather as much information as possible and also direct questions to our friendly staff.
