Meet Dr. Johns

Dr. Francis R. Johns has been Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. His exceptional education and training affords him a unique perspective to the art and science of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Having completed studies in both dentistry and medicine, as well as training in both Maxillofacial Surgery and Plastic Surgery, Dr. Johns offers an educational background that fewer than fifty plastic surgeons in the United States can claim.

Dr. Francis R. Johns graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS degree in Pre-Medicine, and was inducted into the Golden Key Honor Society. He went on to graduate Valedictorian of his class as he earned his D.M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he was inducted into the selective Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Society. Dr. Johns then received his M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Society.

Dr. Johns completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center where he received the first place award in the Straumann Resident Research National Competition for two consecutive years. From there, Dr. Johns completed his Plastic Surgery residency training at the renowned University of Virginia, Health Center, where he received the first place award in the Virginia American College of Surgeons Research Competition for his work in breast reconstruction. He also has more than twenty publications to his credit.

Dr. Johns’ extensive education and training has supplied him with a thorough and comprehensive understanding of both the skeletal framework and the soft tissues. It is these distinguishing qualifications that enable him to more thoroughly evaluate each patient in order to create individualized solutions to their aesthetic concerns. Dr. Johns is dedicated to pursuing continuing education in the latest surgical techniques and treatments in order to provide his patients with the safest, and most effective aesthetic treatments.
